Daniel M. Neidich

Chief Executive Officer

With more than 30 years of opportunistic real estate investment experience, Daniel M. Neidich is one of the pioneers who helped define and develop the high-yield real estate investment fund market.  He has built and led investment teams managing institutional real estate private equity funds, beginning with the first Goldman Sachs Whitehall Fund in 1991. Before founding Dune in 2004, Mr. Neidich spent 25 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a member of the firm’s Management Committee, Vice Chairman’s Council, co-head of the Merchant Banking Division, and Chairman of the Whitehall Investment Committee.  Under his leadership, the Whitehall Funds raised over $12 billion of total equity and purchased over $50 billion of real estate interests worldwide.  Mr. Neidich has held leadership positions in industry organizations for decades, including the Real Estate Roundtable, Real Estate Board of New York, International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, Harvard University, and Columbia Business School.  Mr. Neidich received an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a B.A. from Yale University.

Cia Buckley Marakovits

President & Chief Investment Officer

With a breadth of experience in finance, fund management and real estate investing through multiple market cycles over a more than 35-year career, Cia Buckley Marakovits is an accomplished professional in institutional real estate investing. As Chief Investment Officer and President, Ms. Buckley Marakovits is responsible for the management and performance of Dune’s investment activity and operating business and drives the development and implementation of the Firm's strategy. Before joining Dune, Ms. Buckley Marakovits was the President of the U.S. Fund Business for JER Partners, an affiliate of the J.E. Robert Companies. Ms. Buckley Marakovits joined JER in 1997 and held a variety of positions in the JER organization, including Chief Financial Officer, Head of Asset Management, Head of Acquisitions and President of the U.S. Fund Business. She started her career in 1988 in the real estate finance group at Bankers Trust. In addition to her management role at Dune, Ms. Buckley Marakovits is an active member of the broader real estate community.  She is a full member and former trustee of the Urban Land Institute, serves on the Board of Directors of the Pension Real Estate Association, the Columbia Business School MBA Real Estate Program Advisory Board, and the Executive Committee of the Zell-Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Buckley Marakovits is a former board member of Taubman Centers (NYSE: TCO), a current trustee of Phillips Exeter Academy, and on the board of directors of SparkYouth NYC.  Ms. Buckley Marakovits received an M.B.A. from Columbia University Business School and a B.A. from Lafayette College.

Brad Caracausa

Head of East Coast Acquisitions

Brad Caracausa is responsible for sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, executing value creation strategies and leading Dune’s East Coast acquisitions activity and team. Mr. Caracausa also plays an integral role in driving the Firm’s sourcing and capital markets activities, as well as the implementation of strategic initiatives. Before joining Dune in 2018, Mr. Caracausa co-sponsored a middle-market real estate investment firm and served as director at Westbrook Partners, focused on the firm’s acquisition and investment management activities in the New York City and Washington, DC markets.  Mr. Caracausa received a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University.

Julie A. Brenton

Head of Capital Formation

Julie A. Brenton brings over 30 years of experience in the real estate investment management industry to the investor relations function at Dune, where she is responsible for capital formation.  Before joining Dune in 2014, Ms. Brenton was a managing director at Ranieri Real Estate Partners (RREP), overseeing the capital raising and investor services functions since RREP’s inception in 2010.  Prior to joining RREP, Ms. Brenton held positions within the real estate investment industry, including business development and investor relations roles at Olympus Real Estate Partners, Guggenheim Partners and O’Connor Group/JP Morgan Investment Management, and investment positions at AT&T Investment Management. Ms. Brenton is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, serving currently as the Chair of the New Programs Committee and for a decade as the Chair of the PREA Quarterly Committee. She is a Board Member and Chair of the Investment Committee of The Brenton Arboretum, former Trustee and Investment Committee Member of The Taft School, and member of the Columbia Business School Real Estate Circle. Ms. Brenton received an M.B.A. in Finance and Real Estate from Columbia University Business School and a B.A. in Economics from Carleton College.

Darren M. Berk

Chief Financial Officer

Darren Berk oversees all aspects of the firm’s financial, accounting, tax operations and reporting.  Before joining Dune in 2004, Mr. Berk was controller at SFM Capital Management LP, an affiliate of Soros Fund Management LLC.  Before joining SFM, Mr. Berk was the co-manager of the Fund Accounting Group at Ivy Asset Management Corp.  Before joining Ivy, Mr. Berk worked for Goldman Sachs, where he most recently was manager of the Principal Investment Area Fund Accounting Department.  Before his employment at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Berk was an auditor with KPMG LLP.  Mr. Berk received a B.B.A. (with Distinction) from the University of Michigan and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Elizabeth Burban

Chief Administrative Officer – Investments

Before joining Dune in 2021, Elizabeth Burban spent 22 years at Goldman Sachs as part of the senior management and chief administrative officer teams for the Real Estate Principal Investment Area, the Merchant Banking Division and the Asset Management Division. Throughout her career at Goldman Sachs, Ms. Burban had significant involvement in risk management, organizational workflows, corporate governance, and investor communications.  Before joining Goldman Sachs, Ms. Burban worked as an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York beginning in 1990, focusing on real estate law.  Ms. Burban earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. in Communications from the State University of New York at Albany.

Michael D. Sherman

General Counsel

Michael Sherman manages all aspects of the firm’s legal functions.  Before joining Dune in 2010, Mr. Sherman was an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in the Real Estate Department from 2005 to 2010 and in the Corporate Department from 2003 to 2005.  From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Sherman was a paralegal at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in the Corporate Department.  Mr. Sherman received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a B.S. from Cornell University.  Mr. Sherman is admitted to the Bar of New York and New Jersey.

Alexander Chan

Managing Director

Alexander Chan is responsible for originating and evaluating new investment opportunities and executing value creation strategies.  Before joining Dune in 2022, Mr. Chan was a vice president for QuadReal.  From 2010 to 2020, he was a vice president for Angelo Gordon.  Before that, Mr. Chan worked for Berkeley Partners, a real estate investment and operating firm specializing in light industrial real estate, from 2009 to 2010.  Mr. Chan received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School and a B.A. in International Studies and Russian from the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania.  He is also an alumnus of The Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business, a dual degree program in language, the liberal arts, and business.

Michael Golik

Chief Compliance Officer & Assistant General Counsel

Michael Golik manages all aspects of the firm’s compliance functions. Prior to joining Dune in 2018, Mr. Golik oversaw the legal department and compliance program for CCTrack Solutions (a subsidiary of CITIC Capital), a startup multi-strategy hedge fund/CTA. Before that, Mr. Golik held joint roles in the global macro research departments of FX Concepts and its research subsidiary, Track Research. Michael also held legal roles with Covenant Review (now part of Fitch) and the New York Department of Small Business Services. Mr. Golik received a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law and holds a B.A. in English from Hunter College. He is a CFA charterholder and a licensed attorney in the State of New York.

Tom Kinslow

Managing Director

Tom Kinslow is responsible for originating and evaluating new investment opportunities and executing value creation strategies.  Before joining Dune in 2017, Mr. Kinslow was an associate at Centerbridge Partners, focused on public and private commercial real estate investments from 2013 to 2016.  Before that, Mr. Kinslow was an associate at Ranieri Real Estate Partners, focused on acquisitions from the firm’s inception in 2010 to 2013.  From 2009 to 2010, Mr. Kinslow was an analyst with Deutsche Bank’s Real Estate, Gaming, Lodging and Leisure Investment Banking Group.  Mr. Kinslow received a B.A. from The College of William and Mary.

Monica Scieszka

Director

Monica Scieszka is responsible for originating, evaluating and structuring new investment opportunities and executing the business plans and value creation strategies for Dune’s existing investments. Before joining Dune in 2019, Ms. Scieszka was an associate at Walton Street Capital, focused on the acquisition of commercial real estate. Ms. Scieszka received a B.B.A. from The University of Michigan - Ross School of Business.

Scott Kanofsky

Controller & Vice President – Finance

Scott Kanofsky is primarily responsible for managing Dune’s accounting professionals and overseeing the timely and accurate financial statement reporting for the Dune Real Estate Funds. Before joining Dune in 2023, Mr. Kanofsky served as controller at Lafayette Square, an impact investment platform, and vice president, controller at Vanke USA, a real estate investment company. In both roles, Mr. Kanofsky was responsible for finance, accounting, and treasury functions. Mr. Kanofsky received a Master of Accountancy degree from Villanova University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan. Mr. Kanofsky is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Kaitlin Siehs

Director – Treasury & Operations

Kaitlin Siehs joined Dune in 2011 and is primarily responsible for the oversight of Dune’s treasury and cash management, performance measurement and reporting processes. Ms. Siehs received a B.A. in Business/Economics from Skidmore College.

Jack Foley

Vice President

Jack Foley is responsible for evaluating, underwriting and leading the due diligence process for new investment opportunities, as well as helping to execute the business plans and value creation strategies for Dune’s existing investments. Before joining Dune in 2021, Mr. Foley was an analyst in the Real Estate Syndicated Finance Group within Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Banking Division, where he focused on the origination and distribution of structured debt products for real estate companies, including private owner-operators, developers, homebuilders, institutional real estate funds and publicly traded REITs. Mr. Foley received a B.S. in Finance from Wake Forest University.

Joshua Hassid

Vice President

Joshua Hassid is responsible for evaluating, underwriting and leading the due diligence process for new investment opportunities, as well as helping to execute the business plans and value creation strategies for Dune’s existing investments. Before joining Dune in 2021, Mr. Hassid worked in numerous investment capacities at Kennedy Wilson (NYSE: KW), a global real estate investment company that owns, operates and invests in real estate in the Western United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland.  Mr. Hassid received a B.S. in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

Ben Morrison

Vice President

Ben Morrison is responsible for evaluating, underwriting and leading the due diligence process for new investment opportunities, as well as helping to execute the business plans and value creation strategies for Dune’s existing investments. Before joining Dune in 2022, Mr. Morrison was a senior associate at Hines, where he was involved with acquisitions, developments and asset management. Before that, Mr. Morrison worked as an associate at Guidepost Growth Equity. Mr. Morrison began his career as an investment banking analyst at Robert W. Baird. Mr. Morrison received an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Joyce Tsang

Deputy Head of Tax

Joyce Tsang is responsible for overseeing the tax compliance and reporting (including Dune’s external accountants) for the Dune Real Estate Funds.  Prior to joining Dune in 2016, Ms. Tsang worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP from 2015 to 2016 in the real estate tax practice as a tax senior associate, where she provided tax compliance services to real estate clients. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Ms. Tsang worked as a tax manager at Blackstone from 2009 to 2015, where she was involved with the firm’s tax compliance. Ms. Tsang received a B.A. from Pace University.

Alla Chertkova

Vice President - Fund Controller

Alla Chertkova is primarily responsible for the review and reconciliation of the financial and capital statement reporting for certain Dune Real Estate Funds. Before joining Dune in 2010, Ms. Chertkova was a senior associate at State Street, responsible for financial reporting and accounting for private equity real estate funds. Before State Street, Ms. Chertkova served as a senior accountant at Fortress Investment Group LLC, accounting for private equity funds with investments in German real estate. Ms. Chertkova received a B.B.A. in accounting from Baruch College.

Monica Kukreja

Senior Associate - Investor Client Services

Monica Kukreja is a member of the Investor Client Services team at Dune Real Estate Partners. She is responsible for cross-functional coordination related to investor communications and the production of key investor deliverables. Before joining Dune in July 2023, Ms. Kukreja held various roles in real estate finance, including commercial real estate banking, investor relations and capital markets. Ms. Kukreja received a B.S. in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Questrom School of Business at Boston University.

David Gold 

Senior Fund Accountant

David Gold is primarily responsible for the review and reconciliation of the financial and capital statement reporting for certain Dune Real Estate Funds. Before joining Dune in 2023, Mr. Gold was a fund accountant for RXR and CBRE, where he was responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of private equity real estate funds. Before RXR, Mr. Gold was a senior audit associate at Grant Thornton, leading the audit on hedge funds, private equity funds and funds of funds. Mr. Gold received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Touro College. Mr. Gold is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Catherine Cordrey

Associate

Catherine Cordrey is responsible for evaluating, underwriting and leading the due diligence process for new investment opportunities, as well as helping to execute the business plans and value creation strategies for Dune’s existing investments. Before joining Dune in 2024, Ms. Cordrey was an associate at Heitman focused on acquisitions and asset management. Ms. Cordrey received a Masters from The Fuqua School of Business and a B.A. from Duke University.

Ed Johnson

Associate

Ed Johnson is responsible for evaluating, underwriting, and leading the due diligence process for new investment opportunities, as well as helping to execute the business plans and value creation strategies for Dune’s existing investments. Before joining Dune in 2022, Mr. Johnson was an analyst in the Real Estate Banking Group within Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Banking Division, where he focused on the origination and asset management of commercial real estate loans across the Northeast. Mr. Johnson received a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.

Thayer King

Associate

Thayer King is responsible for the asset management of Dune’s existing investments, including business plan execution and value creation strategies. Before joining Dune in 2023, Mr. King worked as an investment analyst for First Point Partners, a boutique real estate investment and advisory firm, where he focused on underwriting and evaluating investment opportunities and managing distressed multifamily properties. Mr. King received a B.A. in Economics and Classical Studies from Trinity College.
